HOW TO TAKE YOUR MEASUREMENTS



When renting costumes it is always helpful if you know the measurements on various parts of your body and if you are unable to come in to fit a costume, the following will guide you to correct measurements. Please give these in inches only.

Women:

Bust: Measure over the fullest part of your bust
Waist: Measure just under the ribs and above the navel.
For long dresses, waist to floor.
Hips: The widest part which is approximaly 9" down from the waist.
Height and weight.

Men:

Chest: Around your nipples or give us your jacket size.
Waist: Under your ribs, above the navel.
Outseam: From waist to approximately 1-1/2" above the floor.
Shirt: Neck circumference.
Height and weight.

The following tips will help you take basic clothing measurements.

  • Get a flexible measuring tape. These are often sold in craft stores.
  • Be sure to lay the tape measure flat against the skin; don't pull it tight, nor let it droop.
